Africa Against Poverty

Africa Against Poverty (AAP) is a regional advocacy programme focusing on extractive industries, fair taxation, climate change and other emerging development challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa. The programme was launched in 2004 with the objective of linking local community concerns and voices with national and global policy responses.

The programme supports and facilitates technical advice, policy analysis, training and financial support to local civil society organisations and networks. We encourage constructive and critical multi-stakeholder dialogue between civil society, governments and the private sector that can strengthen community rights and ensure more equal benefit sharing that reduces the rising inequality in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Programme works through a number of different civil society organisations in Mozambique, Ghana and Sierra Leone, but also collaborates with organisations and networks at global, European and pan-African levels.
